Schools closed for Spring Recess

School re-opens on Monday, April 21st.

Teachers and students celebrated Day 100 with festive hats!


Mrs. Probeyahn read Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat for first grade classes in celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday Monday, March 3rd.


To celebrate the 100th day of school, a student in Mrs. Dupre's Second Grade class made a poster showing 100 different ways to stand up to bullying.


Congratulations to these Southeast students who performed in the Brentwood High School production of "Beauty and the Beast" February 6, 7, and 8.  For more pictures visit the Brentwood Music Department website:


Pictured above with Mrs. Calderaro are the students who won the "Word of the Week" contest for January.  To be eligible to win, students must visit the "PTA INFO" website every week and write down the "word of the week" on an entry form.  The drawing for January took place on February 7th.  A new contest begins every month.


P.A.R.P. (Parents as Reading Partners) Culminating Event January 29, 2014

Pictured above is Mr. Robert Rivest who presented his  A-Z Literacy Show . 

Mr. Rivest inspired the children with his ability to tell stories through miming.


Fifth grade students pictured above with Mrs. Palmer presented the 17th annual "KING SING" program in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Friday, January 17th.  Each grade learned a song about Dr. King, and Fifth Grade students were the Narrator, Speakers, and Song Leaders.

Santa Claus visited the children of FJC Southeast on the day before vacation, seen here with Ms. Perez's Second Grade Class.


The Winter Concert was held during the day on Tuesday, December 10th.  Featured above are the 5th Grade Dancers in "He's the Man in the Bright Red Suit" with Santa Claus himself joining in the dance.  The evening performance was Thursday, December 12th.

Pictured above is Officer Michael Newman from the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office with Mrs. Sarling and her 4th grade student at the GREAT Awards Presentation December 13th.  All the Fourth Graders at Southeast have participated in the 8-week GREAT program (Gang Resistance Education and Training).  Topics covered were anti-bullying strategies, respect, communication, decision making, dealing with anger, and community involvement.  To see more pictures, click on the picture above.


Mrs. Fitzgerald and Ms. Capasso with Thanksgiving food baskets donated by the students and faculty of FJC Southeast.

"A Healthy Me is Drug Free" Friday, November 15th

Students in Mrs. Beard's 2nd Grade class show the bulbs they are planting in front of the school. All the students at FJC Southeast planted red tulip bulbs. When the bulbs bloom in the spring, the children will remember the promises they made today to be drug free.
